The team behind the mega mod show off many new scenes from their fan creation, including the Daedra realm of Vaermina
The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion is still considered a role-playing masterpiece today, but after 17 years it has become outdated, at least technically. How good that there s Skyblivion is! Because this is a huge fan mod for The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, which has set itself the goal of porting all the lands and content of Oblivion into the technical framework of its successor.
Now there’s new gameplay to marvel at. And we don’t mean a two-minute trailer, no, much better: a full 25 minutes of fresh footage has been released to mark Halloween. A glance at the calendar reveals: a little late. But fans of the mod shouldn’t care
Do you have just under half an hour? Then have fun watching:
This is what the new trailer shows us
The video focuses on Quagmire, the realm of the Daedra prince Vaermina. The environment should be visually very different from what fans of the mod will see in the lands of Tamriel. The accompanying story will revolve around a wizard who is imprisoned in a tower. In Quagmire you can also expect:
Numerous secrets: In Quagmire, it should be worth leaving the predetermined path and looking off the beaten track. Because many ruins entice you with lucrative rewards.
New enemies and weapons are waiting for you to fight or bag them. Many enemies are visually reminiscent of vampires, zombies and other well-known monster celebrities, giving the lands of Cyrodiil a much darker flair than in the original.
Extensive quests: The new trailer invests a large part of the 25 minutes in introducing you in detail to one of the series of tasks created especially for the mod. We won’t give too much away at this point, except to say that the mod doesn’t need to hide behind Bethesda’s own work in terms of production.
On YouTube, the reactions to the trailer are clear: Almost all comments are positive about what is shown, many are cheering and can hardly wait.
When will Skyblivion be released?
Skyblivion has been many years in the making and so the question naturally arises as to when the ambitious mod project will finally reach its goal and we can start playing for ourselves.
At the moment, the rough target release date is 2025. That’s still some time away, but fans can be happy that the mod is still being released at all. A few months ago, the project was threatened by a hacker attack. You can also find more information about Skyblivion on the (official website) mod.
Are you interested in Skyblivion? Have you been waiting for the mod for a long time and can hardly wait or have you just heard about it for the first time?
