Where you drop in Fortnite might be your single biggest decision at the start of the game! The best Chapter 5 Season 2 Fortnite landing spots can offer a lot more than just landing at some random chest. The loot isn’t evenly distributed right now.

The top landing spots in Fortnite offer Chapter 5 Mythic weapons, plus the medallions. These are heavily OP guns, way better than what you’ll find in other POIs. Plus there’s the factor of different areas having more chest spawns than others. If you want to balance loot with the business and fights you’ll find at spots, there are some clear picks to head to.

Best Chapter 5 Season 2 Fortnite Landing Spots

The Underworld

Probably the most alluring out of all new Chapter 5 Season 2 Fortnite landing spots is the Underworld! Hades is here. He drops a Mythic SMG which is cool, but what’s really nice is the Siphon medallion.

Long-time Fortnite players might remember the siphon. It was a competitive mechanic where you got healed after a kill. It encouraged pushing and made tournaments much more fun to play. Epic removed it years ago and will never bring it back. Except for one lucky player who drops at the Underworld each game this season. Hades’ Medallion grants the wielder a siphon effect. Even the downside of having players know your location becomes a positive, giving you a constant stream of players to harvest for their siphon.

There is tons of loot here too. Although, if you’re landing here chances are it’s to take out Hades. The Chapter 5 Season 2 mythic you’ll get for doing so definitely makes this the best choice for a landing spot.

Grim Gate

Just next to the Underworld is another POI you’re mainly visiting for the Mythic. This place contains Cerberus’ Shotgun. It’s A powered-up version of the new shotty with extra bullets. In our opening days, this feels like the best weapon in the game (that’s not literally any sniper rifle you find).

This alone makes it worth dropping here There are other advantages too though. The whole POI is surrounded by a moat of hop effect liquid. It’s perfect for rotation. It gives you the blink effect for a speedy getaway.

Grim Gate has a lot to offer. It’s pretty central, it has a mythic, it has a Medallion, and easy rotation. It’ll be a little busier than worse spots. It’s worth it for everything on offer at the best Chapter 5 Season 2 Fortnite landing spots though.

Lavish Lair

If you don’t fancy going for a medallion every game, there are alternatives to fighting. Lavish Lair is one of them.

In the days since the Fortnite C5 S2 update, players have already noticed how eerie the old POIs are. They’re downright weird. Where previously there was life there’s now just empty rooms. This is perfect for a quieter start. They’ve still got their outsized loot with tons of chest spawns. However, no one is dropping here. Lavish Lair is our pick just for being remote enough to feel almost entirely private. If you want a quieter start, the Lair is the spot right now.

Reckless Railways

Another now deserted POI is Reckless Railways. This has a few advantages though. The first is it’s still full of chest spots. The recently refurbished building atop the hill even has a God chest. The other though is ease of movement.

Reckless is one of the most central named POIs. It’s also slap bang in the middle of the train line. It even has car spawns in two car parks. It has the easiest rotation out you’re going to find this season.

Fencing Fields

Source: Epic Games

The final pick of the best Chapter 5 Season 2 Fortnite landing spots is Fencing Fields. Usually, the most intensive drop spot on the map. Fencing Fields is the new Tilted. Or the new Salty. Each Chapter basically has one of these spots arbitrarily decided upon as the place the sweats go for an early game bust-up. If you want that, it’s right here.

Fencing Fields no longer contains a boss or really that many chest spawns given its size. It does have fields of flowberries. There are much more efficient ways to heal though. Landing here you’ll likely have to fight and you’ll leave with too crazy loot. Although, you’ll also have taken out a lot of the good players and have a decent shot at winning this game of Fortnite.

Why come here then? It’s fun. If you just want to fight and start with a potentially high-game kill, this is likely the spot. Even if lobbies are now 70% bots in pubs, you pretty much always get a decent fight against real players by coming straight here. It’s the last refuge of the real people before Battle Royale becomes an entirely PVE experience.

Those are our picks for the best Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 Fortnite Landing Spots. This is one of the more varied maps we’ve had in a while. Concentrating all the new stuff in the central strip has meant some weird balancing in where players drop. You have your pick of spots for tons of chest spawns, but only a handful with give you the new Mythics and special medallions.
