There are a few major fighting game events taking place this weekend, including East Coast Throwdown. One of the highlights though is going to be the Big House 11. The Detroit-based Smash series is making a return over October 20-22. It’s one of the biggest events on the calendar for Super Smash Bros and we’ll see fighting game esports events for both the major games.

The Big House is organized by Juggleguy, and takes place over one weekend. It’s an offline tournament that’s representing both Melee and Ultimate. We’ve got singles and doubles events both taking place, with over £20,000 in total prize money here. This is how the tournament will work and the events that are happening.

Smash Melee at the Big House 11

The bigger tournament at the Big House 11 is Smash Melee. As an event for one of the best fighting games of all time, it’s got a prize pool to match. There’s $4,420 for doubles but the big event is the singles which has $10,110 on offer. More than 1,000 players have signed up for the singles.

Included in the roster of players are some of the top competitors. There’s Zain, Cody Schwab, Jmook, Mang0, aMSa, Hungrybox and more all showing up. This is an event which is attracting all of the best Smash Bros players.
Ultimate

While Melee is the bigger pull, the more recent Smash game is represented here too. It’s a smaller event but there are still more than 500 players signed up for the singles. There’s a doubles prize pool of $1,720 and singles are getting $5,170. Some of the bigger names for this tournament are going to be Dabuz, Chase, and more.

Both Melee and Ultimate at the Big House 11 are going to be a lot of fun. These are all available on the official stream over the weekend. We should see some of the top Smash players competing in head-to-head clashes.
