The next installment of the popular online dino-hunt Ark has been released today with Survival Ascended. But how big are the hardware footprints?

However, we will have to wait until November this year for the Xbox and Playstation 5 version.

What we do know now, however, are the system requirements of the PCs version of ASA.

Ark: Survival Ascended: A controversy in a lizard costume?

The announcement of Ark: Survival Ascended in April was met with some controversy . On the one hand, it was said that the developer Wildcard would be shutting down the servers of the predecessor game “Ark: Survival Evolved” when the new edition was released. This would force ASE players to switch to the successor ASA.

On the other hand, the Unreal Engine 5 remake ASA was originally only available for pre-order as a complete package along with Ark 2 – until developer Wildcard decided to release Survival Ascended as a standalone title.

Anyway, thanks to Unreal Engine 5, the game looks like a freshly peeled (dino)egg from Jurassic Park, as evidenced by the following trailer.

Also worth watching is the trailer for Ark 2 from two years ago, starring potato nose Vin Diesel alongside the giant lizards.

Are you delighted by the recent release of Ark: Survival Ascended, or have you hung up your paleontologist hat since you despaired of DreamWorks Interactive’s Trespasser back in 1998? In other words, do you celebrate the Ark series – and what do you think of the latest installment? Feel free to write us your thoughts on this in the comments.
