Over the past few months, we’ve seen the opening of a new season for the SF Pro League. First Japan kicked off, and more recently we’ve learnt some details and roster for the SF 6 Pro league USA. Europe so far has been quiet, but that’s just changed. We’ve just seen the Street Fighter Pro League Europe get its full details announced. We know when the event is kicking off plus all six of the teams representing Europe for this fighting game esports tournament.
The Pro league is a different take on professional SF. Rather than the 1-v-1 matches that dominate competitive fighters, this is played in teams. While fights aren’t doubles or anything, the team structure definitely changes the balance. It takes more than just a single top SF 6 player to carry a squad to victory here. The entire team has to be competing on another level. We’ve now seen the Europe side of the Pro League fully confirmed for the 2023 season.
