Zishan “Mazy” Alam, one of Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023 and Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) India-Korea Invitational casters, recently discussed Team X Spark’s lackluster performance in India-Korea Invitational. Mazy stated that the constant shuffling of the team’s roster was the main culprit behind it.
Fan-favorite Team X Spark, which had shown commendable performance in Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2023, faced a challenging journey at the Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) India-Korea Invitational. The team’s lackluster performance placed them in the 16th position on the overall leaderboard.
During the three days of intense competition, Team X Spark made some significant roster changes. On the first day, they benched Tushar “DreamS” Jain and instead, Tanmay “ScoutOP” Singh took his place. The following day, Dreams was back in the lineup, replacing Scout. On the final day, Aditya Mathe found himself on the bench, and Scout once again stepped in.
In a recent livestream, Mazy was asked about Team X Spark’s performance and the potential reasons behind it. Responding to this, Mazy stated that the team was well aware of what went wrong. He highlighted that in the BGIS 2023 Grand Finals, the team secured a total of 88 finishes. Of these 88 finishes, Sarang accounted for 27 finishes, Dreams accounted for 22 finishes, and Aditya and Pukar collectively accounted for the remaining 39 finishes. “You benched the second-highest fragger, and you can’t build synergy that fast. They needed practice. If you are playing at such a high level, you can’t perform without practice,” he added.
Mazy explained that Team X Spark lost their momentum due to the roster changes, and making a comeback proved to be a daunting challenge to them.
