Cloud9 has officially completed their roster by signing Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov, the former in-game leader for Natus Vincere. This move comes after Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov stepped down from the active lineup, leaving a spot open for a player of high caliber. Boombl4’s arrival is expected to bring a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to the team.
Boombl4 joins Cloud9 with an impressive resume, including a Major win and an Intel Grand Slam victory during his tenure with Natus Vincere from 2020 to 2021. Known for his leadership skills, Boombl4 has also shown versatility in his gameplay, sharing AWPing duties with Ilya “Perfecto” Zalutskiy in his initial matches for Cloud9. His debut matches as a stand-in during the Thunderpick World Championship saw him leading the scoreboard against teams like fnatic and Virtus.pro.
The signing of Boombl4 is part of Cloud9’s ambitious roster overhaul that took place during the summer player break. The team brought in Denis “electroNic” Sharipov and Perfecto from Natus Vincere, creating a lineup that many fans and community members considered a superteam. Despite the high expectations, the team’s results were underwhelming, leading to a change in the in-game leadership role from electroNic to Abay “HObbit” Khassenov.
With the addition of Boombl4, Cloud9’s lineup now looks like:
- Abay “HObbit” Khassenov
- Denis “electroNic” Sharipov
- Ilya “Perfecto” Zalutskiy
- Sergey “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov
- Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov
- Coach: Konstantin “groove” Pikiner
- Benched: Timur “buster” Tulepov, Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov
The team hopes that this new composition will correct their course and lead to improved performance in upcoming tournaments.
