It’s official – Activision Blizzard has lifted the lid on the Call of Duty League 2024 season, and it all kicks off on December 8th. It was revealed alongside a trailer that perfectly highlights the action expected from the CDL, and everything that was announced confirms earlier leaks regarding the season ahead. At this point, we know more about the structure of the CDL, what modes are being played, and where and when the Major tournaments will take place throughout the year.
It’s a monumental time to be a Call of Duty esports fan, and there’s barely one month left until the next season begins. There are new points systems, refreshed rules, updated rosters, and plenty of excitement bubbling underneath the surface of the competitive Call of Duty community.
Here’s everything you need to know.
What Is The CDL 2024 Schedule?
Here’s the schedule for the Call of Duty League 2024 season:
Season Start: December 8th
Major I
Qualifiers: Dec 8 – Jan 21 (with festive break)
LAN: Jan 25 – 28 (Boston Breach)
Major II
Qualifiers: Feb 15 – Mar 17
LAN: Mar 21 – 24 (Miami Heretics)
Major III
Qualifiers: Apr 12 – May 12
LAN: May 16 – 19 (Toronto Ultra)
Major IV
Qualifiers: May 24 – Jun 16
LAN: Jun 20 – 23 (Carolina Royal Ravens)
For each qualifying stage, the duration has been increased year-on-year. There will now be four weeks of qualifiers for Majors I and IV, and Majors II and III will have five weeks of qualifiers. Each team will be playing seven matches ahead of the Major to determine the seeding at said tournaments.
What Are The CDL 2024 Game Modes?
Unfortunately, anyone looking for innovation this year has to keep on walking, because we’re playing the same games this year. It has been revealed that the CDL 2024 season will see teams compete across Hardpoint, Search and Destroy, and Control, which is how things have been since the 2020 – 2021 season that featured Cold War. They’re stock-standard modes that fans have come to expect from Activision Blizzard, and while fans have their issues with them, they still make for entertaining watching.
It’s worth stressing that, thanks to the nature of Modern Warfare 3 (2023), these matches will play out on some of the most memorable maps out of all Call of Duty games. We’re going to 2009 with this mapset, and some of the veteran players in the crowd will fondly recall the hottest spots to get the upper hand on the competition.
I’m looking at you, Clayster.

How Does The New CDL Points Structure Work?
For the CDL Majors going forward, there’s an all-new points structure that’ll see greater weighting applied to these impactful tournaments. The breakdown works as follows:
1st Place – 100 CDL Points (+35)
2nd Place – 75 CDL Points (+25)
3rd Place – 60 CDL Points (+20)
4th Place – 45 CDL Points (+20)
5th/6th Place – 30 CDL Points (+10)
7th/8th Place – 15 CDL Points (+5)
9th – 12th Place – 0 Points
Every qualifying match will be worth 10 CDL points for the winner. This new weighting essentially means that winning a single Major could be enough to get a team into the final Champs bracket at the end of the year.
