As winter approaches, it’s getting colder, not only in the real world but also inside PUBG Mobile through the Frost Festival. Tencent is bringing winter into the game with a lot of exciting new features. The highlight, though, is that snowfall is coming to the game’s legendary Erangel map.

PUBG Mobile is turning snowy for the Frost Festival

Tencent first teased the upcoming Frost Festival last week with an announcement on Twitter. In it, a radio broadcast is warning the residents of Erangel of an impending snowstorm in certain areas of the map. This includes Stalber, south of the Shooting Range, northeast of Pochinki, and northwest of Quarry.

The Frost Festival is set to begin on Nov. 9 which is when this snowstorm will likely hit Erangel. Certain areas of the map will be enveloped with snow. It will also bring new features to the game which are as follows:

Snowboard: To help you travel around the snowy map faster, Tencent is adding Snowboards to the snowy Erangel map. These are one-seater vehicles which allow you to rotate quickly. Be wary, though, as Snowboards don’t offer any cover at all and you’re exposed to enemy fire.
Ropeways: Going around the snow can be challenging especially when you are so exposed to the white canopy. For this, ropeways will also be added to the game.
Frozen Egg: These are new items in the game that players can throw to create an Ice Shelter which lasts 180 seconds.

The Frost Festival in PUBG Mobile doesn’t just end here. One of the other highlights is the new Gilt Glacial Bride Set with the Forsaken Glace – AUG. These are legendary skins and have a new on-hit effect, elimination broadcast, and more.

Additionally, Tencent is giving away the Fleet Commander Set for free to mark the Frost Festival. It will be rewarded with the Frosty Gifts event where players have to complete daily login missions for seven days to get the set. Besides this, you can also earn other items.
