Global Esports revealed its new Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) roster earlier this week led by veteran Harmandeep “Mavi” Singh. The new roster may have just gotten formed but are already making a stellar start as they placed third in the first LAN tournament they competed in, the Upthrust Esports Diwali Battle 2023 in Bangalore, India.

This marks Global Esports’, which is a partnered team in the VCT Pacific, second esports roster after VALORANT. The esports organization is one of the oldest in the country. This will be the organization’s second BGMI roster in 2023 after the previous roster disbanded in September on the back of some bad performances and unproved hacking allegations.

“Even though we have been in the scene since the PC gaming era, it has not stopped us from making waves within the mobile gaming generation,” said Rushindra Sinha, Founder and CEO of Global Esports. “GE has always been driven by a player-centric philosophy and with this new roster rebuild, we’re focusing on bringing our long-term heritage of building champions to disrupt the mobile esports ecosystem in India. In 2024 everyone will know the power and impact of what happens when one of the most experienced esports organizations in India enters the arena. Will be putting our best foot forward towards everything we have learned in the last few decades and go back to winning ways with the help of these young masterminds.”

The new roster is comprised of the following players:

Mavi
Akshit “Arclyn” Kumar
Raghuraj “Slug” Singh
Tanjot “Ninjaboi” Singh
Harshit “Beast” Yadav

In their first outing as a team, Global Esports showed why they are a force to be reckoned with already. They placed third in the Upthrust Esports Diwali Battle 2023 on the back of some aggressive performances where the team prioritized picking up kills. In fact, they were the only team in the top seven to not get a single chicken dinner. However, their aggressive performance earned them 133 total points to place third, just one ahead of fourth-placed Soul.

This performance will come as a huge relief to Global Esports, whose earlier roster couldn’t make it to the BGIS Finals and subsequently disbanded.

“After a setback in BGIS Round 2, we felt the need for a hard reset,” said Jaideep Sood, Head of BGMI Operations. “With that, we decided to rebuild the entire roster so that we could train and harness the potential of extremely young and fierce athletes who were hungry, passionate, and willing to go above and beyond to become champions. Becoming a champion once is hard, but staying at the champion spot is even more difficult. We wanted a team with the right mindset to stay on top for years to come, and with Mavi, Ninjaboi, Slug, Beast, and Arclyn, we might have found what we were looking for!”
