After a disappointing end to the LoL 2023 World Championship with MAD Lions, support player Hylissang will be joining a new LEC team in 2024.
Hylissang is set to join Team Vitality for the next season
After one year of tenure on MAD Lions, support player Hylissang will be leaving the Spanish organization and joining forces with Team Vitality for the 2024 LEC season. According to a report by Sheep Esports, the Bulgarian player was let go by MAD without a buyout, facilitating the acquisition by VIT (the player had a contract running until the end of 2024).
Hylissang was rumored to leave the organization after it was revealed that MAD allowed their players to explore their options shortly after their elimination from Worlds 2023. The fact that Hylissang would leave the team was also confirmed by the reported verbal agreements with the full Spanish bot lane of Supa and Alvaro going into next year.
2024 will mark the 10th year of Hylissang’s competitive career
Despite already being 28 years old, Team Vitality will only be Hylissang’s fourth unique organization he joins. The support player spent 4 years on Unicorns of Love, and then 5 years on Fnatic, making his stint on MAD the shortest one so far. The player will be replacing Kaiser on Team Vitality, who reportedly reached a verbal agreement to join Team Heretics last week.
According to Sheep Esports, VIT also considered support player Théo “Zoelys” Le Scornec before locking in Hylissang, with the former likely to join another LEC organization. With most teams having locked in their support player, Zoelys is likely going to join one team between Team BDS and Infinite Reality’s unnamed team, the two squads with no support confirmed.
As for Vitality, Hylissang’s addition means that the French team is left with a mid laner and ADC player to fill the roster. Currently, this is how the 2024 lineup should look like:
Top lane: Photon
Jungle: Daglas
Mid lane: ????
Bot lane: ????
Support: Hylissang
Even though the transfer window is not open yet, many teams have already locked in a large part of their lineup. If you want to know how all the squads are shaping up, check out our LEC free agency and roster shuffle page with all the latest moves and rumors.
