We’re just weeks away from the start of the Call of Duty League 2024 season, and the new mapset has just been confirmed. However, it’s a bittersweet revelation, as many of the game’s pro players are adamant that these maps just ‘aren’t competitive-ready’. There are concerns about spawns, rotations, hills, sight lines, ‘spots’, and everything else you could list. It might be a while before these issues are ironed out, but there’s no time to wait – it all starts on December 8th.
There are high expectations for the season ahead. Initially, players were excited about the nostalgia factor of Modern Warfare 3, given that it’s bringing back all the maps from arguably the greatest Call of Duty game ever made. Not only that but the off-season has been bursting at the seams with content, beef, and community-led developments to the game. There are rivalries already surfacing, cringey villains are airing their attitudes, and movement kings are exploring every corner of each map.
And on the topic of maps, here’s the set lined up for 2024…
CDL 2024 Maps and Modes in Full
It’s typical these days that Control remains a staple in the line-up of modes being played, despite many fans and pro players not enjoying it. There are plenty of players who would prefer to run something like Capture the Flag, but Activision Blizzard seems unwilling to make that change, for whatever reason. So, we’re left with the trio: Hardpoint, Search and Destroy, and Control. They’re not the best modes for MW3’s maps, as mentioned, but hopefully, that’ll balance out as the season pushes on.
Here’s the split:
Hardpoint
Invasion
Karachi
Skidrow
Sub Base
Terminal
Search and Destroy
Highrise
Invasion
Karachi
Terminal
Skidrow
Control
Highrise
Invasion
Karachi
For the old-school, nostalgic Call of Duty fan, it’s mind-blowing that we’re even playing these maps competitively in 2024, but that’s the world we live in now. There’s nothing that sells better than a blast from the past, and that’s what this entire game is built around.

What’s The CDL 2024 Schedule?
At the moment, the first qualifying schedule is known, and it all begins this year with an Atlanta FaZe vs. Boston Breach showdown on December 8th. That first weekend is loaded with some high-intensity matches, but we’re particularly excited for OpTic Texas vs. New York Subliners. These two teams – along with Atlanta FaZe – are widely predicted to sit at the top of the table this season.
Here’s a snapshot of the schedule ahead:
Major I (Boston): Dec 8 – Jan 28
Major II (Miami): Feb 16 – Mar 24
Major III (Toronto): Apr 12 – May 19
Major IV (Carolina): May 24 – Jun 23
With all-new teams debuting this season, plenty of rookie talent coming up into the League, and some veteran players potentially hinging their final season on the year ahead, this could be an electrifying one. There’s every opportunity for this to be the greatest Call of Duty competitive season for years, it just needs to deliver from the perspective of the game. #
