The Division: Heartland could be released surprisingly soon. We explain what this means and how likely it is
When will The Division: Heartland be released? Fans of Ubisoft’s in-house loot shooter series have probably asked themselves this question a few times, because almost two years have passed since the launch and the last big info boost also dates back to 2022. So it seems reasonable to assume that the co-op fun will be a while yet.
The exact opposite could be the case, however. At the very least, a development in Taiwan suggests that the release could be imminent. Wait, Taiwan? Yes, we’ll explain it to you
A meaningful age rating
What happened? In Taiwan, the competent authority has assigned an age rating for The Division: Heartland, as a screenshot circulating on X (formerly Twitter) reveals:
1/ The Division: Heartland has received a rating in Taiwan on November 14. Games are rated there, at most, approximately 2-2.5 months before a planned launch or soft launch/open beta (for online games), so it might be coming very early in 2024. What’s so special about it? Sure, you could object now: What do I care if Taiwan pulls out the age stamp? Then we’ll give you the smart answer: Because the past has often shown that an age rating in Taiwan is usually issued around two to two and a half months before the game is released.
In other words, Ubisoft could release The Division: Heartland at relatively short notice in early 2024
What speaks in favor of this? Apart from the aforementioned time span regarding the process in Taiwan, there is another argument why a short-term release of Heartland cannot be ruled out: The loot shooter will be a Free2Play game, i.e. the basic version will be free of charge. It’s quite possible that Ubisoft will rely on word of mouth instead of launching an advertising campaign well in advance
Would you be happy about a relatively early release of The Division: Heartland? Are you at all interested in Ubisoft’s new co-op shooter or are you no longer interested in such loot orgies? Do you have other co-op games on your wish list that appeal to you more? If so, which ones? Let us know your opinion in the comments!
