In a move that has been in the works for a long time now, Russel “Twistzz” van Dulken has officially announced his departure from FaZe Clan. The statement came out on X and confirmed what many people have already suspected.
Twistzz confirmed that his departure has been in the works for a long time. The rest of the team knew before IEM Sydney began back in October.
Twistzz Leaves a Significant Legacy
As a player, Twistzz has played a massive role in FaZe’s success in CS2 so far. But after they went on an unprecedented 18 game win streak since Counter-Strike 2 dropped, it was a disappointing end to the BLAST Premier Fall Finals for the team.
That really shouldn’t be what the this roster should be remembered for though. Twistzz has been on the team for 3 years and has seen both highs and lows. As he said himself, 2021 was a rough year for the team. But from there, things really started to pick up as they found synergy. And it seems that he’s is certainly open to the idea of playing with FaZe once again.
“We completed the game, I can’t be more proud of what we have accomplished. I have made life long friends in this team and organization and if the opportunity ever happened again, I would be proud to wear a FaZe jersey once more.”
What’s next?
In his statement, Twistzz didn’t confirm what comes next for him. He did say that another statement will follow, hopefully soon, but for now he seems to be happy celebrating his time at FaZe. If the rumor mill is to believed, we may be seeing him don a Team Liquid jersey soon enough.
With just a couple of weeks left to go until BLAST Premier Fall Finals, it’s very likely that FaZe have another player waiting in wings to fill in. Time will tell who that will be!
