Ludwig got his start in Smash Bros. While he’s gone on to be one of the best streamers in the world, he’s still hosting Smash Bros events with a new one just announced. A fresh Ludwig Smash event is being put on, The Match. This isn’t just a standard bracket where we’ll see the top names from pools compete together. It’s a tournament dedicated to finding the best Smasher.

Just last year, Ludwig held the Scuffed World Tour. That was an event put on to replace the Smash World Tour, a cancelled finale for the yearlong circuit. This new tour name is similarly on a year ending scale, but with a completely different format. This is how it’s going to work.

New Ludwig Smash Tournament the Match Coming Soon

Ludwig has announced he’s putting on a new Smash tournament series. The goal of the event is to find the very best player in the world. However, the process is going to be different, the way we get to that result? A series of first to 10 marathon matches.

We’re looking at lengthy matches where players are going up one on one, to try and find the best. Players will have to compete to be the first to 10. While it’s the same Melee, it’s also a different format than most tournaments use. This will test players in a unique way. It’s all starting on December 15th.

Called the Match, the new event is a series of 1v1s to this excessive total! It’s all kicking off with a matchup between Cody Schwab and Zain. Undoubtedly two of the best active Melee players. Following this match, we’re seeing a few other major players go head-to-head to narrow things down to the very best players. Ludwig has a flair for the dramatic and this tournament is an interesting twist on things.
