Clear winner

On the evening of December 7, the time had finally come and the annual Game of the Year Awards took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Canadian video game journalist Geoff Keighley hosted the event, which lasted around three and a half hours.

In the meantime, he also received support from celebrities such as Matthew McConaughey, Dune actor Timothée Chalamet, Kratos voice actor Christopher Judge (“Read it boy!”), director and comedian Jordan Peele and Marvel star Anthony Mackie.

However, the focus was particularly on the two successful and previously praised games Baldur’s Gate 3 and Alan Wake 2, which went into the evening as clear favorites with eight nominations each

Although the title of best video game of 2023 is undeniably the most prestigious, the jury also presented awards in 31 other categories. We have listed all the winners for you and, of course, also reveal who can call themselves Game of the Year 2023
