Global Esports and Vitality Esports have quite a history. According to Global Esports’ Founder and CEO, Rushindra Sinha, has was once approached by a potential investor to start Vitality India. However, instead of doing this, Sinha chose to focus on builiding Global Esports, who are now the sole Indian organization in the VCT Pacific. Now, the two teams faced off in the VALORANT Convergence, an official OFF//SEASON event, taking place in Bangalore, India. Needless to say, it was an absolutely one-sided affair as Vitality dismantled the home team 2-0.

VALORANT Convergence 2023: Team Vitality register dominant 2-0 victory over Global Esports

Team Vitality and Global Esports both have fielded their roster for the upcoming VCT League in 2024. The only difference for Global Esports is that due to Benkai not being available, their ex-player Skillz has joined the roster for this event.

The series game was quite a one-sided affair. It felt like Team Vitality were more composed and in sync against a confused GE team. There were multiple rounds where Team Vitality could handle the tempo of the round with ease. The highlight of the series, though, was Team Vitality’s Emil “runneR” Trajkovski, who ended as the MVP.

RunneR was having a field day against the Global Esports roster and ended the series with a KDA of 49/20/4. During the game, we saw him get 2 kills in 4 rounds, 3 kills in one round, 4 kills in the penultimate round, and finally an Ace as well in the last round on the map of Sunset. On Breeze, we saw the same picture being painted as runneR finished the match with a KDA of 21/9/2. It did feel like we were runneR singlehandedly take down the entire Global Esports roster.

Disappointment for Global Esports

The one-sided result were a huge disappointment to Global Esports and its fans, who are looking to enter 2024 on a high note. After taking down GE, Vitality went on to register a 2-0 victory against Furia as well, cementing their spot in the Grand Finals and knocking both teams out of the competition.

Global Esports still have the chance to give something to the home fans as they face off against Furia tomorrow for their last match of the VALORANT Convergence. You can watch the match live on the VCT Pacific YouTube channel.

For Indians fans, there was some solace from True Rippers, the locally qualified team, who almost took down the might Gen G in a thrilling best-of-three series.

Additionally, day one of the VALORANT Convergence saw a delay of over 4 hours. As a result, there was a lot of frustration on the side of the fans at the venue and online. Day two, however, went on smoothly.
