Crytek continues to improve Hunt: Showdown with every update. And we find out what Ciri from The Witcher is actually doing now

It’s growing and thriving – and Crytek is making no move to step on the brakes. With the timely new event Tide of Desolation and a host of far-reaching improvements, Hunt: Showdown is marching towards 2024. Once again, we show you the most important and exciting trailers of the week

Also featuring: The new horror film Baghead with Ciri actress Freya Allan and the new sandbox survival game Return from Core. Have fun!

Place 3: Return from Core

Somehow familiar to us: If you ve already played Core Keeper up and down and are looking for a change, Return from Core might appeal to you. The developers make no secret of their role model, as the title itself is reminiscent of it.

This is what it’s all about:&nbspYou also dig your way through the earth, craft better equipment, fight enemies and farm like in Stardew Valley. And you’ll have to face powerful bosses if you feel well equipped enough. Return from Core was released on Steam on December 15 and has won over the first 120 or so reviewers by 86 percent.

Place 2: Baghead

What … is this thing? In the trailer for the new horror film Baghead, a monstrous creature with a bag over its head lives in the cellar of an ancient pub. Iris has inherited the building from her late father. Apparently, the creature can take on the form of the dead and answer questions. But anyone who makes use of it for more than two minutes will suffer terrible consequences

Main actress Freya Allan will be familiar to many gaming fans from the Witcher series on Netflix where she plays the character of Ciri.

Place 1: Hunt Showdown

Big changes: It’s the exception rather than the rule that a developer trailer takes first place here. However, the video for Hunt: Showdown is so full of sensible improvements that it is appropriate for once. Head of Design Dennis Schwarz explains what’s new in Update 1.15: The new Tide of Desolation event, new weapons such as the katana and, above all, far-reaching changes to the progression system.

This is what’s in Update 1.15: From now on, all weapons are unlocked in their basic versions from level 1. Only traits, tools and consumer goods are obtained via the bloodline. All weapon variants and ammunition types must still be earned again with each Prestige. In addition, with 1.15 Hunt pays out significantly more game money, free hunters are now more valuable and some traits have been merged.
