The fighting game calendar has been a lot busier this year with major circuits keeping important tournaments running year-round. The EVO events for many are still the absolute highlights though, bigger than circuits like the Capcom Cup. The EVO Japan 2024 tournament looks set to be one of our biggest yet, cementing the series’ spot as a highlight of the year after its return in 2023.
We’re beginning to get quite a few more details about EVO Japan 2024 and how it’s going to work. Now, registration is open and competitors can begin to sign up for the tournament.

Games at EVO Japan
Registration is now open, but what titles will see as a part of EVO Japan? As this is the Japanese side of things, there will be a different selection of games than the western EVO. These are the titles we know are being featured at the event.
Street Fighter 6
Guilty Gear Strive
King of Fighters XV
GranBlue Fantasy Versus Rising
Tekken 8

Street Fighter 3rd Strike
Those are the mainstage games announced so far. There are some interesting picks in here though, like the brand new Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising and the 3rd Street Fighter for a retro pick. It’s great to see such a mix of new titles and some of the best fighting games of all time at EVO Japan.
