Christmas is probably one of the best holidays of the year. This time of year is also celebrated at the Sinyala research facility. But the test subjects in The Outlast Trials are not exactly experiencing the best aspects of the game

Since mid-December daredevils can throw themselves into the challenges of Winter Kills  This is the winter event, which will take place until January 9 at 4pm in The Outlast Trials.
Among other things, all your experiments will be provided with two new challenges. In Cold Snap , freezing cold will be regularly added to your testing ground. If you don’t hide in time, you will die. Things are a little more rewarding in Find the Gifts  If you find all the gifts on the testing ground, you will receive additional rewards.

In addition, there are the two new Courthouse MK challenges, which involve escaping from the building on the one hand and destroying evidence of your misconduct on the other.
If you take on these new challenges in The Outlast Trials, you will receive corresponding winter rewards. These include outfits and decorations for your cell

The January Roadmap of The Outlast Trials

In addition, developer Red Barrels has already made big plans for January.
After completing Winter Kills, The Outlast Trials continues with “No Meds “ In this weekly challenge, you must survive your experiments without the use of painkillers.
The following seven days are themed “Bad Trip” and let you face each trial with a stage 1 psychosis.

The last week of January will be particularly challenging with “Hardcore “ the last week of January. In the period from January 23 to 30, you can only complete all experiments on the highest difficulty level.

You can find more information and patch notes for Winter Kills in the update post on the (Steam page).
