It’s officially 2024 and VALORANT is all set for the upcoming Episode 8. Riot Games has unveiled the map rotation for the upcoming season with a major change: Icebox is coming back in, but a popular map is leaving the game. Here is the map rotation in VALORANT Episode 8.

Riot is also implementing a new change with Episode 8. As a part of this, modes will use the competitive map rotation. Thus, the Episode 8 map rotation will not only extend to the competitive mode but will be for other modes too. This change, however, doesn’t apply to TDM and Custom Games where you will have all maps available to enjoy.

VALORANT Episode 8: What is the new map rotation?

It has been quite a while since a change has been implemented to VALORANT’s map rotation. Previously, Riot removed Fracture from the professional map pool. In VALORANT Episode 8, though, the developer is bringing back the snowy map of Icebox.

Here is the complete map rotation for VALORANT Episode 8:

Icebox
Lotus
Sunset
Breeze
Ascent
Bind
Split

Most surprisingly, Haven will officially be out of the competitive map rotation for the first time since the launch of the game. Thus, Lotus will be the only map in VALORANT’s Episode 8 with three plant sites.

Additionally, Riot has announced that there will be multiple changes coming to Lotus and Icebox with Episode 8. These haven’t been revealed yet, though.

The new map rotation has received quite a lot of appreciation from the community. Players and fans of VALORANT can also expect changes to certain characters in the upcoming patch which will launch later this month. Additionally, Episode 8 is set to bring a new sniper, Outlaw, to the game.
