To round off our list of LCK power rankings, here are our top five top lane players going into the 2024 Spring Split.
LCK Top Lane Power Rankings – 2024 Spring Split
5. Kingen
Kingen’s 2023 season was mostly average. Playing mainly as a weakside player makes it hard to showcase your value and mechanical prowess. That said, he didn’t really shine nor has given me the impression of delivering great performances during crucial moments.
While I think that DK’s lineup has potential, I don’t think he can match the other top players on the list. Not to mention that he will face competition from the substitute player Thanatos, as the rookie might be replacing him if his performance is not up to standard.
4. Dudu
Despite not having great results, I’ve been quite surprised by Dudu’s individual performance. Even when the team was struggling, it gave me the impression he had something up his sleeve to turn the game around. His numbers seem to back it up: positive gold, XP, and CS at 15 minutes, as well as 22 solo kills. For someone who has played Renekton and K’Sante for the majority of the season, these are really strong numbers. With KDF picking up Cuzz, we might be seeing improvements from the entire team, including Dudu.
3. Doran
Always treated on Gen.G’s lineup as the weaker link, I believe Doran needed to change team to prove himself. While I don’t think his role will fundamentally change on HLE, he might be able to level up this season as the weakside king. And in a team with a lot of firepower in the bottom lane, that is completely fine.
I liked how Gen.G was willing to give him carry picks like Jax last season but the competition is going to be tougher and I believe Doran still lacks a bit compared to other players in that department. Definitely in the top three, it will be important to understand how much of a gap there is between him and the top two.
2. Kiin
Kiin joining KT was a blessing for the Korean player in 2023. With a capable roster, Kiin was able to show his real worth and why he has always been regarded as one of the best top lane players in the LCK. The lowest average of deaths with positive gold, XP, and CS differential proves he’s one of the most solid players in the league.
Now that he’s on Gen.G, Kiin has the golden chance to fight for the LCK titles. In a three-way fight with HLE and T1, he has to prove he can surpass the other players. But until that happens, we’ll put him in second place.
1. Zeus
If it weren’t for Zeus’ incredible performance at Worlds, I would have probably rated Kiin higher than T1’s top laner. But how can you not put him first when he just smashes every top laner in the world, including TheShy?
Zeus has had ups and downs but I feel like he has matured so much during the 2023 season. Worlds 2022 must have been a valuable lesson for him, as he can be the difference-maker when the game state is even on the rest of the map. LCK teams are known to have great bot lane and mid lane carries, but top laners have been a bit lacking: Zeus and Kiin (when on a form) are the only two with consistent carry potential. This is why I’m rating them above the rest. Zeus, compared to Kiin, won in peak performance.
