An official reference to the release of the open-world game has allegedly surfaced, but it was apparently a misleading placeholder
For a short time, the excitement was great: Has Disney just blabbed about the release date of Star Wars Outlaws ? Attentive fans had found an official hint in a promotional text and were already happy about the new info – but now Ubisoft denies it.
We explain what exactly happened and what the official announcement is regarding the release date of Star Wars Outlaws.
Confusion about alleged release note
What was going on? Disney had announced in a (promotional post) the upcoming Star Wars attractions that will be particularly important in 2024. These include new highlights in the Disney Parks, as well as the action adventure Star Wars Outlaws from Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft. The text stated that the game would be released in the second half of the year
However, this information disappeared shortly afterwards and now it only mentions “2024” – the release period that was already known anyway.
Ubisoft commented to (Kotaku) in an email and clarified, that the original statement in the article was incorrect and that they continue to state the entire year as the planned release period for PC, PS5 and Xbox X/S.
Star Wars Outlaws has also made it into our 24 most important games to be released in 2024. Because it makes the long-cherished dream of many fans come true: For the first time, we explore the galaxy far, far away as an open world, in the role of a rogue named Kay Vess – emphatically not a Jedi or Sith for once. Instead, we shoot with blasters and rely on the cuddly companion Nix.
Would you like to make your personal prediction at this point? When will Star Wars Outlaws be released: at the beginning, middle or end of the year? Or do you even think it will be delayed and come out later than planned, as has been the case with many big titles in recent years? Let us know in the comments!
