Warner Bros. Discovery, Ernest Cline and more are working to turn the fictional virtual reality from Ready Play One into a real virtual reality
Futureverse, an AI and metaverse technology company, has announced plans for the upcoming launch of its own metaverse, to be based on the novel “Ready Player One,” (on X)
For this purpose, Shara Senderoff and Aaron McDonald, co-founders of Futureverse, have founded Readyverse Studios. The author of the original book, Ernest Cline, and the producer of the film adaptation, Dan Farah, are also involved in the project.
Ready Player One as Metaverse
How can I imagine Readyverse? Readyverse Studios want to base their metaverse on the digital world of the book and film source material
In the original novel, most people spend their time in the so-called OASIS, a virtual universe into which they can immerse themselves completely with a type of VR goggles. There, people go to school, work and spend their free time on different planets with almost limitless possibilities.

Futureverse has not yet shared specific information about the content of their Metaverse. The company describes the Readyverse as “a dynamic interactive platform for interconnected digital experiences”.
Readyverse will also “represent the principles of the open metaverse, namely demonstrable digital ownership, community-owned infrastructure, decentralization, security and interoperability “

What technology will be used? Futureverse announced in a series of posts on X that they will be using Futureverse’s extensive technology platform, including their “The Root” network, to create the Metaverse.
The Root is a public decentralized blockchain network optimized for metaverse apps and games.
The company also claims that with their technology, which they have been working on for 5 years, they will be able to “lead the metaverse market shortly”.
When will it start? The Metaverse with Ready Play One franchise is scheduled to launch in 2024
The first step for Readyverse Studios is an exclusive partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery to bring the Ready Player One franchise to the Metaverse using Web3 technology. In addition, Readyverse Studios secures exclusive web3 rights to all future Ernest Cline intellectual property.
What is Web3?In short, Web3 is a broad concept that represents the evolution and decentralization of the Internet. The idea behind it is that decentralized technologies such as blockchain, cryptocurrencies and decentralized applications (DApps) will play a central role on the Internet in the future.
