The new-look team Vitality has had a disappointing start to the 2024 season, suffering three straight losses in the opening week of the LEC and giving themselves plenty of work to do if they’re to avoid crashing out early.

After their loss to Team BDS, Lee Jones had the chance to speak to their returning bot laner Matyáš “Carzzy” Orság.

Esports.net: What do you think went wrong against BDS?

Carzzy: I think we were just AFK not willing to take any fights. And yeah, that’s literally the entire story of the game – that we didn’t do anything.

Is that an ongoing issue for Vitality? What needs fixing to avoid early elimination?

Carzzy: With the format, it’s really hard to bounce back if you go 0-3. We need to win at least three games now, and we played one of the easiest teams as well. So we have to step up our game for sure.

I think the fix is not that difficult. We have good practice…

I’d say, the thing is that we are just afraid of pulling the trigger when it comes to it in the official games.

Why do you think that might be?

Carzzy: I’m not sure actually. I actually have no idea why this is happening.

Lee Jones: Ahead of this season you left MAD Lions to rejoin Vitality.

How did that play out and were there any other options?

So basically, I knew for sure I was out of MAD Lions. I was looking for other options. It was kind of difficult because the teams were kind of locked with AD carries, or all the teams I would like. There was only BDS, Vitality and Fnatic that I had as options. But yeah, that’s it, just these three teams.

Lee Jones: Did you plan to stay with Hylissang?

Carzzy: No, no, no, that was spontaneous.

You’ve reunited with coaches Mac and Pad. Did that play a part in choosing Vitality?

Carzzy: Yeah, that was also definitely playing a role, having Mac and Pad as coaches.

Lee Jones: Carter also joined the coaching setup.

How has that dynamic been?

Carzzy: I think they’re fitting each other well, I think they’re cooperating well together as a trio. I was surprised Carter blended in really well instantly – he’s very useful.

Lee Jones: You’ve arguably got the nicest hair in the LEC.

What are your top three players with the best hair in the league?

I think it’s me number one. I would say actually Humanoid number two, and Hans Sama number three.
