Palworld is all about the Pals – that much is obvious. This phenomenal open-world survival game is built around the Pals, which are creatures that you’ll capture, fight, and put to work. There are more than 100 Pals, all of which are dramatically different. There are plenty of similarities being drawn between Pokémon and Pals, but like in Pokémon, can Palworld Pals evolve? Are they stuck in their base form, or can they become something much greater?
Since Palworld was released on January 19, plenty of Pokémon-themed questions have come up about the game. For instance, ‘Can you battle Pals in Palworld?’ Or how about, ‘Are there shiny Pals in Palworld?’ These questions have come up because Palworld is just so reminiscent of Nintendo’s monster-catching game, it’s unreal. So, let’s find out – can Palworld Pals evolve?
Do Pals Evolve in Palworld?
In Pokémon, evolving a monster means you’re changing its form and allowing it to take on more powerful abilities. For some creatures, there may be three or four evolutions, and some evolutions are extremely rare or difficult to obtain. Is that the same story in Palworld? Can you evolve your Palworld Pals?
No – Palworld Pals do not evolve, but there are ways you can create new breeds of Pals through the game’s ‘Fusion’ system. This is where you cross-breed Pals with each other, fusing two Pals to connect their abilities and unlock exclusive, unique characteristics. If you’re able to track down rare Pals and combine them, you can create something truly special – but that’s as far as it goes when it comes to evolving Palworld Pals.
In some cases, using Fusion to evolve your Palworld Pals might be better than Pokémon’s traditional evolution system. By using Fusion, you’re creating something unique and effectively multiplying the number of Pals available to uncover in the game. It also adds more of a challenge to the notion, as it means you’ll need to scour the world to track down the rarest Pals to create the most powerful combinations.
Are Pals The Same as Pokémon?
You’d be forgiven for thinking Palworld is the same as Pokémon. That has landed the game’s developer in hot water since the title was released on January 19. There are more than 100 Pals to uncover in Palworld, and almost all of them are comparable to a Pokémon in some way. Not only that, but the base concept of the game and how you capture your Pals is almost identical to Pokémon.
With that being said, Pals are not the same as Pokémon. It must be stressed that Palworld is an entirely separate entity and is in no way connected to Nintendo’s Pokémon. That much has been made clear by Pocket Pair, the game’s developer.
