LEC 2024 Winter Playoffs – Schedule, results, format, and more

With the regular split over, it’s time for the best eight teams to face off in the LEC 2024 winter playoffs.

LEC 2024 Winter Playoffs – Introduction

Compared to last year, Riot Games decided to merge the groups stage and playoff stage into one big bracket. While the playoff bracket is bigger and will last longer, the number of matches is basically identical.

Below are the teams taking part in the LEC 2024 Winter Playoffs:

#2 seed: Team BDS
#3 seed: SK Gaming
#4 seed: MAD Lions KOI
#5 seed: Fnatic
#6 seed: Team Vitality
#7 seed: Team Heretics
#8 seed: GIANTX

The first split of 2024 saw G2 and Team BDS at the top of the standings, with a very packed mid-field from 3rd to 8th place. Given the small amount of time to adapt to the new season, the end result was a very messy regular split, with only G2 and BDS showing more consistent performances. With more time to prepare for playoffs, we might see the field spread out more, especially given the introduction of Bo3 and (later) Bo5 matches.

The format will be a double elimination bracket with Round 1 and Round 2 fighting in Bo3. The rest of the matches will be Bo5s. The first round will start on February 3 while the final will take place on Sunday, February 18.

Teams will be earning championship points based on their finishing position, and the winner of the split will get direct access to MSI 2024, which will take place in China, alongside a €40,000 prizepool.
