On February 7, an all-new season packed full of content will be released for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. It’s a sizeable update with an intense roadmap that’s positively bursting at the seams with weapons, modes, maps, and much more. There’s a top-tier spread available for all players, regardless of whether you enjoy multiplayer, Warzone, or COD Zombies gameplay. In Season 02, there’s an epic Walking Dead crossover event that’s going to introduce new Operators, variant maps, and special modes.

It’s one of the most jam-packed Call of Duty updates we’ve seen in a long time. With seven new maps, four new weapons, a range of fresh equipment, and the return of Fortune’s Keep, there’s so much to wrap your head around ahead of February 7. Let’s break down the Season 02 update and see what’s coming to Call of Duty in a few days.

There’s something special lined up for Warzone fans this time around as Ranked Play has been confirmed as a key part of the Season 02 update. It will take place on Fortune’s Keep, utilising a trios-based Resurgence mode to allow users to climb the ranks in a more challenging setting. On the topic of Warzone, there are also all-new events, killstreaks, and power-ups to be discovered and secured. It helps that four new weapons are coming to the game, too – time will tell if they become a Warzone meta:

BP50 (AR)
RAM-9 (SMG)
SOA Subverter (DMR)
Soulrender (Melee)

For multiplayer fans, there are (technically) seven new maps coming to MW3 with the Season 02 update. There’s a huge focus on the new micro map – Stash House – but special recognition also has to be given to the new ‘variant’ maps. For the Walking Dead crossover, ‘Skidgrow’ and ‘Airborne’ will be made playable. That’s alongside the other new maps – Vista, Departures, Operation Tin Man, and Das Haus Remastered. When it comes to new modes for these maps, players will be able to enjoy Team Gun Game, Bounty, Snipers Only, and Hordepoint.

But It Doesn’t End There

That’s certainly not all that’s coming with the Season 02 update. There’s an all-new Battle Pass that features Rick Grimes (free to unlock), and in-season, Michonne will be made available through a bundle. There’s a Dune crossover event, five special modes, and plenty of content for MWZ fans. There’s a staggering amount of content coming with Season 02 – it’s one of the biggest updates we’ve seen in a while.

Outside of everything we’ve listed, there’s also a brand-new and already overpowered Ninja Vest coming to MW3. This vest will allow players to silence their footsteps and remain immune to movement-slowing effects (like a stun grenade). It also boasts thrown ammunition and restocks throwing knives over time. It’s going to be many players’ favourite item, that’s for certain.

Are you excited for Season 02 to hit? It’ll be released globally on February 7.
