Like Anno 1800 with human sacrifices and angry gods – you can now try out El Dorado, the building game hopeful, for free on Steam
Fans of Anno 1800 take note: There’s a new city-building game on Steam that might be right up your alley!
Even before its official launch, the building game El Dorado: The Golden City Builder offers a free taste of what you can expect in the final game. A prologue demo is now available on Steam, in which you can build settlements, appease gods and conquer the city of Yucatan – all without spending a cent of real money.
That makes El Dorado special
What is El Dorado about? Developed by Polish studio Gameparic, the game is positioned as a strategic city-building game in which you can expand your empire through peaceful negotiation or war.
El Dorado offers basic game mechanics that are familiar from other city-building simulations. For example, resource management, tactical city planning and the well-being and satisfaction of the population, which you must take care of at all times.
However, one particular game principle sets it apart from the competition: the appeasement of the gods. You can sacrifice your citizens to appease the gods and prevent them from afflicting civilization with catastrophic events such as devastating lightning strikes. Those who choose not to make such sacrifices must reckon with the wrath of the gods.
The free prologue of El Dorado: The Golden City Builder is now available for download on Steam. You can also add the game directly to your wish list there.
When will the finished game be released? An official release date is not yet known, so the prologue will be the only opportunity to try out the building game with its unusual setting for yourself for the time being.
How do you like the exotic scenario of El Dorado? Exciting? Or are you getting fed up with construction games in which all kinds of disasters constantly destroy your painstakingly built city? Let us know in the comments section:
