The survival MMO is being released a little earlier than expected. This is probably due to the numerous genre colleagues coming out in the same period

If you’re eagerly awaiting Nightingale, there’s good news: Early Access is starting two days earlier than previously planned. We have all the important information about the launch of the survival game for you!

Here you can see the latest trailer with some gameplay, which also announces the postponement:

When and where will it start?

Early Access will start on February 20, 2024 instead of February 22 as originally announced. You have the choice between Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The developer team Inflexion Games says that the postponement is intended to give them additional time to resolve any launch issues. There could be another undisclosed reason: On February 22nd Sons of the Forest leaves Early Access and is therefore likely to attract the attention of numerous survival fans. Pacific Drive, perhaps the most unusual survival game of the year, will also be released on the same day.

That’s a lot of direct competition in one day. Nightingale elegantly avoids this by being released earlier than the other titles. However, we don’t know whether this was really a decisive reason

How long Early Access?  Nightingale is expected to spend between 9 and 12 months in Early Access, but the developers don’t want to be pinned down to an exact date yet

What kind of game will Nightingale be?

The survival MMO sends you into several open worldsthat you enter through magical portals. Each one is designed to look different and house different creatures, inspired by Victorian fantasy. Your goal is to find the last bastion of humanity: the city of Nightingale.

The focus is on PvE, you can play alone or in co-op. In classic survival style, you collect stuff, craft tools, cook food and explore the world(s) around you. With better equipment, you can venture further and in turn secure higher-quality resources.

Nightingale was postponed several times during its development. First it was supposed to come out at the end of 2022, then it was moved to the first half of 2023 – because they switched from Unreal Engine 4 to 5. Then it was autumn 2023, then February 22, 2024 – and now February 20 seems to be the final release date.
