One of the biggest events in fighting games takes place this weekend, the Capcom Cup with a record prize pool. It’s not the only big tournament happening though, the Capcom Cup will also be the setting for the conclusion to the SFL World Championship 2023! This final tournament brings the top teams internationally together.

While the singles side of the Capcom Cup is the main event, the Street Fighter league is a fun different strand of fighting game esports. It’s a different format, with players competing in teams. The first year of Street Fighter 6 for this event has been a pretty fun one. How will the finale for the tournament work?

SFL World Championship 2023

The SFL World Championship 2023 is the conclusion to a year’s worth of events. It’s taking place on February 24, slotted into the Capcom Cup X schedule. It’s a tournament where we’ll see three squads of champions go head to head.

So far this year, the SFL Pro League has been running in North America, Europe, and Japan. These tournaments saw players competing locally. They’ll then be brought together for a World Championship where they’ll go head-to-head here.

Only three teams have made it this far. These are the squads we’ll see in the finale.
