Riot asks for feedback from the community about April Fools

On top of releasing special skins for the occasion, Riot tweaked the LoL Summoner’s Rift map to celebrate April Fools a few days ago. For two days, players were able to discover and test various features that spiced up the game.

Now that event is over, Riot Games producer Yasuna asked for feedback on Reddit, explaining all the features that were included, and looking to understand which were the favorite from the LoL community.

The limited event was implemented on the Rift’s Blind pick mode. It had the mascot Stabby Crabby, which would go rogue against junglers who’ve been killing them relentlessly for gold and vision. There were also the special tower emotes, which would be spammed when they would kill you or take an assist in the kill.

On top of that, it had silly hats on minions, random herds of Poros on the Rift, and Hexgates for better and quicker rotations on the map. Out of all the features, the hats on the minions were the preferred addition to the game. Some players also wished Hextech gates to be implemented in the mid lane as well. One redditor wrote: “Not gonna lie, the Hexgates from center lane outwards didn’t feel like a “prank”, they felt legitimately valuable and I was repeatedly glad they were there. Consider adding them to the Hextech map permanently!”

There are some players, however, that faced FPS issues when the herds of Poros spawned on the map, alongside other glitches caused by the event.

There might be special emotes for those who participated in the event

Overall, however, the feedback on the features was positive. Riot Yasuna mentioned in the comments that there “may or may not be a commemorative emote coming soon” for those who participated in the event. Some players, though, weren’t happy with the lack of communication regarding the potential rewards, claiming that they were disappointed since it wasn’t mentioned anywhere until the event ended.

That being said, it’s still unclear whether the emote will be distributed to players and how “special” the emotes will be. Regardless, Riot will have a good amount of feedback on their hand to improve the gaming experience in the future, especially when it comes to April Fools once again.

Even though April Fools is over, there will be more chances to test out special skins. Riot is working on the Inkshadow skins which will be available for the Mid-Season Invitational. If you have access to the PBE, feel free to try them out starting from Apr. 4th.
