Since Konami announced Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, fans have been left with a few questions: Is series creator Hideo Kojima involved in the remake? And where does the name actually come from? Konami provides the answer in an interview.
Hideo Kojima and Konami have been going their separate ways since 2015. Still, it”s not completely inconceivable that the series creator would consider at least a short-lived partnership for Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater – is it? Unfortunately, it is. As Konami explains in an interview with (IGN) neither Hideo Kojima nor his lead designer Yoji Shinkawa are involved in the remake
Nevertheless, the remake will hand over to some familiar ones. For example, “central roles” are given to developers who have worked on previous titles in the series. Also back at the start is the (production company Virtuos).
Konami also has a few words to say about the special name. The Greek letter Δ (delta) was chosen because in mathematics it stands for change and difference. In addition, it stands for the change of an amount without changing the corresponding structure. This captures the essence of the remake, as Konami is not planning any updates or changes to the story.
Further remakes not ruled out
Konami decided to remake the third part of the Metal Gear Solid series because it represented the birth of Naked Snake. Since Snake Earter marks the beginning of the series, it is only logical to start the remake project here. If the fans enjoy Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, remakes of other titles in the series will not be overlooked.
So everything stands or falls with the release of Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater. Incidentally, this is to take place for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. However, it is not yet clear when exactly this will happen.
