With Nexus, a very different Stellaris is coming to Steam. The focus is on multiplayer and turn-based strategy
There are many surprises at the Summer Games Fest, one of them for fans of 4X strategy. With Stellaris Nexus, the gigantic space strategy game gets a very small brother.
Here, everything revolves around short multiplayer games that are turn-based. A round is supposed to be completed within an hour, and you or one of your friends is the winner.
The trailer gives you an overview of the game, the graphics and the mood:
What is Stellaris Nexus about?
Stellaris Nexus is played against up to five friends or strangers via matchmaking. A game should only take about an hour. This clearly sets the spinoff apart from its big brother, which is known for its sprawling campaigns.
In addition, the gameplay of Stellaris Nexus is turn-based. So you are not under massive time pressure, but can consider your steps a little more calmly.
You lead your own civilisation to victory or fail because of your opponents. Besides war, diplomacy is also possible, so you can also forge strategic partnerships with your fellow players.
If it comes to war, you lead your spaceship armies into battle. The trailer above also shows some aspects of this, which at first glance seem even more tactical than the battles of the big 4X brother.
What else is important?
Stellaris Nexus doesn t yet have a release date But a (Steam page) already exists if you want to add the game to your wishlist.
The game is not developed by Paradox directly, but by the studio Whatboy Games and distributed via the publishing platform Paradox Arc.
