PUBG Mobile is one of the most popular mobile Battle Royale titles worldwide. Ever since its release in 2018, the game has gone on to capture the mobile gaming market. Being a port of the original PUBG on PC and consoles, the game is fairly large and demanding from mobile devices.

Tencent has a lighter version in the form of PUBG Mobile: Lite for players with entry-level or mid-range smartphones.

What is PUBG Mobile Lite?

As explained, the game is essentially a lighter version of PUBG Mobile which was released in August 2019. However, it doesn’t have the same maps and user base. It’s a separate title with a smaller map for shorter battles. Unlike the usual 100 players who drop in the main version, PUBG Mobile Lite only houses 60 players.

Being a separate title, it has separate servers and players have to make a new account to play it. Additionally, the game is only available to play on Android devices. This isn’t surprising to see as the game has been made for entry-level and mid-range smartphones, which is an area Apple doesn’t release smartphones for.

It’s unlikely that Tencent will ever release PUBG Mobile Lite on iOS in the future.

How to Download PUBG Mobile Lite & Minimum Specifications?

There are two ways to download PUBG Mobile Lite. One is through the Google Play Store directly. The other way is through the APK file. Follow these steps if you want to download the game with this method:

PUBG Mobile Lite lagging? Here’s how you can fix it

If you’ve downloaded PUBG Mobile Lite, and the game is still lagging on your Android smartphone, here are some tips to get the game working better:

Restart your device
Check your battery level. Your phone may start optimizing the battery level when it’s low by restricting performance. If it’s low, charge your phone and then play it.
Make sure your device isn’t overheating. If it is, shut down the game and wait for a bit before playing it again.
Make sure you have a good internet. The game may be lagging due to high ping as a result of connectivity problems.
