Dave The Diver emerges as version 1.0. Tens of thousands of Steam players are celebrating the RPG mix of diving, hunting and … Sell Sushi!
Biting on juicy rice, quickly feeling the fresh fish with your tongue before the wasabi in the soy sauce rises to your nose like a fresh sea breeze. Eating sushi is a sensual experience, and Dave The Diver knows that too.
The game is about diver Dave who catches fish to sell them for profit in the sushi restaurant. Dave The Diver was released as a full version on Steam on 28 June and has already inspired thousands since Early Access.
Dream numbers on Steam
The overall average for Dave The Diver is an extremely positive 97 percent approval rating from over 13,000 Steam reviews. Very, very few games do that well, even more so with an Early Access phase and a rather special art design. However, the pixel design is very lovingly created and perhaps reminds you most of Stardew Valley.
You can see for yourself in the trailer:
What is Dave The Diver about?
Lying comfortably on the beach, the likeable Dave is surprised by a phone call. His friend Cobra offers him a business idea that he needs the help of a diver
who is capable of diving.
So Dave breaks off his holiday early and travels to a picturesque coastal town where a sushi restaurant is already waiting for hungry customers. A talented chef is already impatiently digging in his heels and needs not only fresh fish and other ingredients every day, but also Dave’s energetic help as a waiter. And the restaurant wants to be developed, expanded and promoted!
From this, very roughly, spins the game principle:
During the day we are supposed to catch fish and explore the ocean for secrets.
In the evening we manage the restaurant, put together the menu and serve sushi.

Diverse role-playing and building elements can be found in between: So we can improve our diving equipment by collecting materials in the sea, do missions for various weird birds, create a farm for special ingredients, play many mini-games and refine our dishes with rare ingredients. We can also cook ourselves. And on social media, we have to promote the restaurant so that more guests come.
This mix goes down very well with (Steam) and is also played en masse. 34,000 simultaneously active players were measured at the peak – a considerable number for a game with a retro pixel look. For days, Dave The Diver has also been lingering high on the topseller list.
And you? Have you already played Dave The Diver? Are you also enthusiastic or does the game not get you hooked? Feel free to write it in the comments!
