Popular YouTuber iDubbbz has disclosed that Creator Clash 2 suffered significant financial setbacks, losing around a quarter-million dollars due to piracy and increased expenses related to the charity-driven influencer-boxing event.

Creator Clash 2, encountered several challenges leading up to the fight night. Despite the event itself going smoothly and featuring renowned creators in pre-shows and interviews, it was evident that the second event faced tougher circumstances.

According to iDubbbz, the lack of anti-piracy measures cost them millions of views given they only managed to sell 50000 Pay per view tickets. The pirated sites combined racked up over 2-3 million views.

“We didn’t have any anti-piracy measures,” iDubbbz said. “We weren’t prepared to deal with what ended up happening.”

“I foolishly thought that the success of last year should be a minimum for what we’re able to do this year, and that wasn’t true,” he said. “…we did half as well as we did the first year. 50,000 [views], compared to 100,000 the first year. I was wrong, and I feel a lot of shame, because a lot of people were trusting me and trusting our team to protect the event and protect the charities and protect the whole thing.”

The whole event was meant for charity but incurring such losses would mean that there is nothing left to give away. In this particular event, piracy has defeated the purpose and if anything is to go the way of charity, it must come from the pockets of everyone involved.
