King of Fighters XV is getting its next fighter very soon, with Najd joining the roster after a debut at EVO 2023. The new character is the latest in the DLC Fighters Pass, a familiar face that got cut in the transition from XIV to XV. They’re going to be joining the new game soon, but there’s an early showing coming at EVO where players can test out the latest addition to the roster.
Najd Coming to King of Fighters XV
The new character is scheduled to be released roughly for the Summer, but this new demo gives us a bit of an extra clue about when to expect them.
Players can try them out early at EVO 2023. This won’t be in the tournament at the event though, instead Najd will only be accessible through the demo play of the game at the SNK booth. We’ll still likely learn more about how they work in King of Fighters XV though, with players reporting back on how Najd in King of Fighters XV handles.
The character is due to release in Summer. In terms of an exact date, the new EVO demo gives us a bit more information. We’d normally expect a new character to arrive soon. Having the character playable at EVO likely means a lot of progress has been made, and we might get them in the game proper as early as mid to late August 2023.
After Najd comes to King of Fighters XV, we’ve still got two more characters to come in this wave of the Fighters Pass DLC. One is scheduled for Autumn and the other for Winter. So, while we’re seeing a slowdown compared to Sylvie Paula Paula, Goenitz, and Najd all coming in Summer, there’s plenty more still to come through the rest of the year.
EVO is going to be one of the biggest events yet for King of Fighters XV. It’ll be fun seeing how the character handles outside of the bracket. That’s not to the mention the tons of other big fighting game esports events going on at the event.
