Farlight 84 is an all-new battle royale game that has been released on mobile and PC, but is it making inroads into the genre? There is by no means a shortage of battle royale games in the world, but is Farlight 84 doing anything different to put a real mark on the industry? With this review in hand, learn everything about know about the title and answer the all-important question: ‘Is Farlight 84 a good game?’
It’s mostly a subjective debate, as one man’s trash can be another man’s treasure, but we’re interested to look beyond basic opinions on Farlight 84. We’re taking a close look at the game’s mechanics, features, and stability in this Farlight 84 review. If you’ve got burning questions about the game, then look no further than this review.
How Deep is Farlight 84?
Typically, battle royale games don’t have much of a story driving them. They’re session-based, which means that you load them up, enjoy them for a period of time, and then power them down again. It’s a cyclical thing, and aside from a little lore here and there, most of the best battle royale games on the market aren’t too deep.
From what we can see, Farlight 84 follows that same path, offering little in the way of depth. There is little information to gather about the various hero-like characters featured in the game, but for the most part, it’s ‘mindless entertainment’ with no complexity. This concept does extend outside of the context of the game, though. For instance, there are pilotable vehicles with abilities, but we’ve seen that before and it’s more an added feature than something intrinsically important to the game.
Many of the game’s characters seem almost recognisable – even if you’ve never seen them before. There are plenty of similarities between Farlight 84 and games like Overwatch, Fortnite, and Apex Legends when it comes to character design, which has caused many of the characters to already feel unoriginal. In fact, one reviewer named Farlight 84 an ‘Apex Legends for kids’.

But is Farlight 84 a Good Game?
There are some unique features in Farlight 84, such as the ability to build up your shields. In Warzone, Fortnite, and Apex Legends, players can build up their shields with physical items, but in Farlight 84, players must traverse the map and collect ‘EXP’ that builds up their shields over time. There’s an original ‘respawn feature’ that effectively sees Farlight’s players infinitely respawn during the earliest stages of a match, but it gets more complex over time.
In terms of combat, Farlight 84 doesn’t really offer up anything very substantial. It isn’t going to blow your mind – particularly if you’re playing on mobile – and it really isn’t anything that we haven’t already seen as gamers. It’s funny – Apex Legends Mobile was cancelled by Electronic Arts, but if it hadn’t been, then Farlight 84 probably wouldn’t have any players whatsoever. There are quite a few people playing Farlight 84, but that’s likely because it’s quite new and boasts a free-to-play operating model.
Ultimately, while it looks nice on the surface, there are plenty of heroes to choose from, and there are some unique features, Farlight 84 isn’t really all that impressive as a battle royale game. If you’ve found yourself wondering, ‘Is Farlight 84 a good game,’ allow us to put your mind at rest – it’s quite average.
For better alternatives on mobile, consider downloading the likes of Fortnite or PUBG Mobile. Both of these games are free to play, have more players on them, have better esports scenes, and they’re much more well-established as games.
That marks the end of our Farlight 84 review. We’re hopeful that, one way or another, we’ve helped you make a decision.
