How to download League of Legends

Downloading League of Legends is one of the biggest esports titles and one of the most popular games in the world. Not only does it have one of the most intricate gameplay experiences but Riot worked hard to create an entire ecosystem around it, ranging from music videos, merchandise, and even character-related games like CONVERGENCE.

League of Legends is free to play and it’s one of the few games where skills are all it matters to reach the highest ranks. You can unlock all champions without spending any money, although you can get better customization by purchasing in-game currencies and acquiring skins, emotes, and other accessory items.

Today, you will find out how to download not only League of Legends, but all the titles that are related to the League of Legends universe, including Teamfight Tactics, League of Legends: Wild Rift, and Legends of Runetetra. Just like the main title, they are all free to download. Here’s how to download each game and begin the gaming experience.

Downloading LoL

League of Legends is the first game Riot Games released to the public. It dates back to 2009 and it’s a 5v5 MOBA available on Mac and PC. The safest way to download the game is through the official League website. Click Play for Free in the center or Play Now in the top-right corner.

Bear in mind that in order to play any of the games, Riot requires you to create a Riot Games account, adding an email, birthday, username, and password. If you already have one, just click on the option “Already Registered? Click to Download”.

3. Once you make it to the download page, click the blue Download option in the middle of the page and save the installer file on your PC. Ideally, save it in a place where it’s easy for you to find. After that, open the file and install the game onto your computer, then launch it and log in. Since the game is based on patches, you will be required to install some updates the first time you open the app.

The download might take a while if you have a slower connection. Otherwise, it should take around 15-20 minutes maximum to download everything. Unlike other games, League of Legends is not that heavy in terms of disk space. Once the download is completed, you can log in with your Riot Games account and start playing. You can also log in while the client is downloading, but you won’t be able to play.

How to Download Teamfight Tactics

Teamfight Tactics is an “auto battler” game, also commonly known as auto chess. You have different units that you can place on the field, and they will clash against other players’ boards to determine the strongest one. It debuted back in 2019, and it has been gaining increasing popularity ever since.

Contrary to League of Legends, you can download Teamfight Tactics not only on MAC and PC but also on Android, iPhone, and iPad. Since it’s not as mechanically intensive as the MOBA, it’s perfect for mobile gamers as well.

Luckily, the PC and MAC users will be able to play TFT directly through the League client, as the game is already built into it. All you have to do is click Play in the left-hand corner and then select the TFT mode. For mobile, instead, you have to go to the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store to download the app. Regardless, both of them are free to download and play.

How to download League of Legends: Wild Rift

For those who are not familiar with Wild Rift, it’s basically the mobile version of League of Legends. It’s not a cross-platform game, and it has been adjusted to suit mobile gamers better. That being said, there are a lot of similarities with the PC version, making the experience quite similar. That being said, things you unlock in the game will not carry over to the other and vice-versa: they are still two separate titles.

Since it’s only for mobile,  League of Legends: Wild Rift can only be downloaded on smartphones and tablets. You can download it onto your iPhone or iPad from the Apple App Store, and onto your Android phone or tablet from the Google Play Store.

How to download Legends of Runeterra

Aside from the auto battler and the MOBA, Riot Games also released a digital card game called Legends of Runeterra, which is fairly similar to Blizzard’s Hearthstone. While it uses the same characters from the League of Legends universe, the players here use cards with unique effects and abilities to beat each other.

And just like the other titles, Legends of Runeterra is indeed free-to-play. Having said that, the grinding process to get the strongest cards might be extremely time-consuming, so we suggest spending a bit to speed up that process and increase your chances of victory as soon as you download the game.

The game is currently available for PCs, iPhones, iPads, and Android devices. To play from your mobile device, you can download Legends of Runeterra for your iPhone or iPad from the Apple App Store, or for your Android device from the Google Play Store.

Unfortunately for Mac users, the game cannot be played on that platform. Here are the steps to get Legends of Runeterra on your PC:

Head to the official Legends website and click Play now.
Use your Riot Games account to log in, or create a new one.
Click Download now and save the installer file onto your computer.
Open the file and install Legends of Runeterra, then log into your Riot Games account and wait for it to make the necessary updates. After that, you’re ready to go!

4. Open the file and install Legends of Runeterra onto your PC, then open it up and log into your Riot Games account. It might have to install some updates the first time you open the app.
