Get on My Level 2023 has just wrapped up. We’ve got new results in Smash Bros, both Melee and Ultimate. However, there was also a notable SF 6 tournament. The Get on My Level 2023 results have definitely shaken things up in fighting games. The final has definitely made an impact though, and could be changing how we view the best Smash Bros players in the future.
These are the big takeaways and winners from the Get on My Level 2023 finals, for both Smash and Street Fighter 6.
Ultimate Get on My Level Results
Ultimate had a pretty unexpected result. Heading in, Sparg0 was definitely one of the main players to watch. Yet, the big prize ultimately went to someone else, playing a pretty unexpected Smash Bros characters.
Sparg0 entered the bracket from the losers round, easily sliding past Zomba. In the losers final, he faced Tilde. Tilde managed to take a round, but ultimately Sparg0 moved forward to the Grand Finals, where he faced Sonix. Sonix had a surprisingly smooth run through the tournament. In the Grand Final he lost the first round to Sparg0 but went on to completely dominate, winning 3-1.
Sonix’s win wasn’t his first major upset in Smash. The fact that a Sonic player has been able to continue to play at this level is huge though, and it speaks to Sonix’s strength as a Smash player right now.
Melee
Ultimate had a pretty unexpected result, but what about Melee in the Get on My Level results? This tournament saw loads of the top players fighting it out, and it marks a return to form for a name that dominated in 2022.
Zain entered the winners bracket in the first round, easily taking Spark 3-0 and repeating that feet next round against KoDoRiN. This set him up to face Hungrybox in the final, who also had a really smooth ride through the tournament. Zain prevailed here too though, going 3-0 and securing his place in the final bracket, where he beat Mango 3-0 too.
Over in the losers bracket, Cody Schwab took out aMSa in an incredibly tight game in the second round. That was before just missing out against Mang0 in the final. After losing his first match against Zain, he beat moky and faced Zain again in the final round.
Ultimately, Zain won in the Grand Final, losing the first round to Mango before going 3-0, quite similar to the Get on My Level finals in Ultimate! This could be the start of a comeback from Zain, taking him back up the rankings in 2023.
Street Fighter 6 Get on My Level Results
Get on My Level might have been primarily a Smash tournament, but this year it had a huge event for Street Fighter 6. The latest fighting game in the series has been huge and Get on My Level was a fun event showcasing the title. One player absolutely ran away with the tournament though, MenaRD.
MenaRD is definitely the stand-out player in the early section of Street Fighter 6, the Get on My Level 2023 results have proven this out too. The player completely dominated in the bracket for the game. The final two rounds put him up against Sayff, who he blew through 3-0 in both rounds. Riddles gave him a bit more trouble in the first round of the winner’s bracket, but the whole tournament was a clear demonstration of MenaRD strength in the game. With EVO 2023 SF 6 right around the corner, he’s definitely looking like the player to beat in the game.
