Yazan “YZNSA” Alsubhi, a renowned Overwatch player globally, holds the title of the highest-ranked damage player in the European Top 500, as well as Top #1 spots in both Asia and America.
Earlier this month, he also held the ranks one through ten in Europe, and the top #1 spot in Europe, America and Asia once again (the first time was in April).
YZNSA dominates the Overwatch 2 ladders
While Overwatch 2 is grappling with a significant smurfing issue, the top 500 “player lists” is riddled with smurf accounts and YZNSA is among the most notable “ladder grinders”.
Players have advocated for the prohibition of Bronze to Grandmaster content, arguing that it encourages a smurfing mentality. YZNSA himself has streams that cater to this type of content. Despite Blizzard developers labeling smurfing as “the bane of (their) existence” during a stream in March 2023, there is no sign that this issue will be resolved in the near future. It appears that players will have to endure highly skilled players decimating them in their competitive games.
In October 2022, Blizzard implemented a feature that required all new accounts to be linked to a single phone number. This implies that YZNSA either possesses at least ten phones or purchased every single account. Accounts named “YZNSA3” through “YZNSA22” are all present in the top 10 list, all employing the same hero selection. This indicates that YZNSA is not only smurfing but also using his main characters—with a single exception for Hanzo.
