The delayed Asian Games 2022 is finally set to begin next month as athletes from different countries across the continent fight for the gold medal in different sports. This time, one of them is esports where PUBG Mobile has been added as a discipline. It’s set to happen from Sept. 23 to Oct. 8 at the newly-constructed Hangzhou Esports Center in China. Ahead of the anticipated event, Krafton has revealed the new racing mode in PUBG Mobile for the Asian Games 2022.
How to play the new racing mode in PUBG Mobile?
The new mode is called the Off-Road Racing Mode. Teams of four will take each other in the huge Miramar map. The mode will feature different stages consisting of the skydive, car race, and target practice for victory.
The mode will begin in the skies of Miramar. Firstly, players have to parachute down to the starting position and take over the cars. The car then has to be driven through different Check Stations to reach the finish line.
These Check Stations will also feature additional shooting challenges. Here, players have to shoot down targets to gain points. Additionally, between the Check Stations, there will be power-up targets that players can shoot down to gain a boost.
The first team to reach the finish line will be considered as the winners.

Why isn’t there any PUBG Mobile Battle Royale in the Asian Games 2022?
The Asian Games 2022 are regulated by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The IOC has been clear about its stance ever since it spoke about including esports in these multi-sporting competitions: it doesn’t want violence. On one hand, the IOC needs the young audience that esports brings, but on the other is subservient towards competitive gaming.
Thus, the title isn’t deploying its standard kill-for-victory battle royale mode, which it’s known for in the first place. With the new Off-Road Racing Mode in PUBG Mobile, it remains to be seen how many people tune in to watch the Asian Games 2022.
