Blizzard softens a few nasty monster effects and fixes numerous bugs with the new patch on 29 August

Patch 1.1.3 for Diablo 4 is in the starting blocks and Blizzard reveals, as usual, which changes you can expect. We provide a quick overview here.

When will patch 1.1.3 be released? As things stand, version 1.1.3 will be released on Tuesday, 29 August. We expect the update around 7pm.

What exactly is in the update? It’s more of a small balance patch that mainly tweaks the balance and fixes bugs. So don’t expect any major new features like the promised loot filter or the promised general overhaul of resists.

What comes next? There will probably be no major new features in Season 1. Instead, we can expect Season 2 from October 2023 a new vampire setting, end-game bosses and some new convenience features.

Summary: The most important changes

Patch 1.1.3 adjusts the crowd control effects of some monsters that players often found annoying. You are less likely to lose control from enemy abilities and some elite affixes such as Stuns, Knockdowns, Chilling Wind or Cold Enhanced.

Item affixes are now sorted correctly so you will have a much easier time comparing items and clearing out inventory. This system will be further expanded in Season 2.
Treasure goblins between level 15 and 40 and bosses level 35 and above are now guaranteed to drop a Legendary  Frustration caused by zero rounds of loot should finally be a thing of the past.

Patch Notes: All changes complete

Are you happy about the nerf of the crowd control effects in version 1.1.3? Or do the changes not go far enough for you? And are you excited about the new content in Season 2? Feel free to write us your opinion below in the comments.

Patch Notes Diablo 4 1.1.3

Monsters

Control Loss Sources: We have made several changes to monster skills and elite affixes that cause loss of control effects, for example:

Cold Enchant elite enemies that attack in quick succession (e.g. Ghost Archers or Snake Ruffians) no longer trigger the Cold Enchant with each hit.

Icy Wind causes overlapping walls less often.

Cannibal Devourer’s stun skill is now easier to dodge.

The cooldown of the Cold Goatman’s Ice Pillars has been increased.

Lowered the amount of hypothermia from Cold Spider attacks.

The stun duration of the Nangari Serpent Eye has been reduced from 1.5 to 1.25 sec.

More changes to make the player less likely to be a target of loss of control.

Developer comments: These changes are aimed at reducing the time the player loses control and giving them more time to recover after a loss of control, especially at high world levels.

General

Death Explosion from Fire Enchanted monsters deals one less wave and 20% less damage.

Reduced the damage of the Storming Charge of the Swollen Corpse Shell by 14%.

Other

Affixes on items are now sorted consistently.

Developer comments: The Season of Blood sees an adjustment to how affixes are displayed in item tooltips. This change is the cornerstone of our ongoing efforts to better compare random affixes.

The seasonal filter and the “My Class” filter in the “Codex of Power” menu now save the last filter criteria.

Controller control in the Glyph Appreciation menu now feels more natural.

Achievements, trophies and challenges with the same unlock criteria on multiple platforms now carry over through cross-platform progress.
