With the third video of the Behind-the-Scenes series for Alan Wake 2, we dive into the supernatural darkness of the Dark Place. In the six-minute clip, the developers talk about the creation of the setting and the richness of detail.

As already pointed out several times, we experience two realities in Alan Wake 2. In one, (FBI agent Saga Anderson) is fighting for her life, while in the other the eponymous author is fighting for his sanity.

The latest behind-the-scenes video tackles the making of the eerie Dark Place and explains that it pays to watch closely.

The Dark Place feeds on the subconscious of its victims. Thus, writer Alan Wake suddenly finds himself in a nightmarish version of 90s New York. In order to give the players an authentic feeling, the art team has created the so-called “nightmare graffiti” using the street art styles of the time.

These contain elements typical of the time and give them an eerie twist. But don’t look away! Because even the smallest of the creepy murals might show you important details.

Alan Wake 2 will be released on October27 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
