Street Fighter 6 is getting a brand new collab, but it’s one being done in a bit of a unique way. Street Fighter 6 X Baki the Grappler is the latest crossover, bringing some content from the popular manga into one of the best fighting games. Although, it isn’t quite getting official items.

Street Fighter 6 is having a unique approach to these styles of collabs. In recent Street Fighter 6 patch notes we’ve seen the game get collabs with franchises like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. These haven’t been full crossover fighters, instead, we’ve been limited to cosmetic items in the store. This makes sense as a full-on fighter is a bit of a bigger commitment for a collab. However, with the Baki the Grappler collab we’ve seen even a different way of bringing a crossover to the game. It’s making use of SF 6’s extensive character creator!

Street Fighter 6 X Baki the Grappler

A new collab is coming to Street Fighter 6, but it’s not actually crossing over with in-game items. Instead, Capcom has taken to its own character creator tool to make something special. On Twitter, the developer shared recipes for the avatar creator. These are custom characters designed to directly resemble the characters from Baki the Grappler!

This is a different way to do a promotion. How well-suited the characters are is a great example of how much can be done with the tool. Capcom has shared recipes for Baki Hanma and Kaoru Hanayama. However, they may add more characters in the Street Fighter 6 X Baki the Grappler collab later.

This new collaboration for SF 6 is an interesting way to do a collab. While we’re lacking custom made fighters or cosmetics, it’s a fully free crossover! This approach will definitely have its fans for that change. It’s likely going to be a style we’ll see more of in the future, with less work being needed for these kinds of crossovers.
