The story at the top of the table

The top two teams of the MPL Indonesia Regular Season will earn a bye to the Upper Bracket Semifinals. Currently, the teams at the top are Onic Esports and RRQ.

Onic, with a score of 11-3, are leading RRQ who are at 10-4. Both teams, however, have to play two matches in the final week. Currently, Onic are in a comfortable position and look set to take the Regular Season victory. Their last two matches are against Bigetron Alpha and EVOS Legends – two fan favorite teams – but who haven’t been able to perform their best in the ongoing season.

The battle for second place currently only has RRQ and Geek Fam in contention. With a three-game lead over Geek Fam, RRQ look set to take that spot, though. However, Geek Fam can still shoot for the spot as they have three matches left – one against RRQ itself.

The teams facing elimination in the MPL Indonesia Season 12

The MPL Indonesia is a highly competitive league. This has been on display in the ongoing Season 12 as well. As it stands, of the three teams getting eliminated, there is still a slim chance of third-placed Geek Fam ID being knocked out as well.

Currently, the only team out of the competition is Aura Fire. Alter Ego, currently in 7th place, are in a tough spot. They have just one match left (against Aura) and while they need a victory, it also depends on the results of Bigetron and EVOS to qualify for the Playoffs.

Bigetron and EVOS, on the other hand, have got an intense week ahead. EVOS, who placed second last season, have been in terrible form losing several key matches. The final week is going to be eventful for the team as they face arch-rivals Onic Esports and Bigetron. EVOS have lost both of its matches against the two teams this season and need victories to book a Playoffs spot.

Bigetron, on the other hand, also faces in-form Onic Esports and then EVOS. If both teams lose their matches against Onic, it could mean that a decider match is set to happen to decide who gets the Playoffs spot.
