Global Esports, the only Indian organization in the Valorant franchise, Global Esports is undergoing a significant transformation in the competitive Valorant scene with a slew of changes. The organization has made yet another major addition to its Valorant 2024 roster by signing Russel “Russ” Mendes. Like previous two announcements, Global Esports also made this announcement through a video on its social media platforms. This sigining marks a significant step in the “hard reset” of the organization’s Valorant roster.

Global Esports’ Valorant Roster For Valorant 2024 Season

Global Esports has added Russ as the third signing for Valorant 2024 season, following the signing of Abhirup “Lightningfast” Choudhury and Benedict “Benkai” Tan.

Interestingly, Russ has joined the team on a free transfer. In the announcement video, Russ exclaimed, “It’s good to be back in India, guys. It’s time to fight.” His return to India, given his remarkable gaming history, has the community eager to see what he can bring to the table.

Russel “Russ” Mendes, though having spent a considerable amount of time in the tier two circuit of EMEA. His recent tenure with Les Petits Bouffons showcased his leadership skills as they secured fourth place in Split 1 and third place in Split 2 of the competition this season. However, Russ is most prominently recognized for his stints with TENSTAR in 2021 and Guild Esports in 2022.

During his time with Guild Esports, Russ played an instrumental role in their third-place finish in the 2022 VCT EMEA Stage 2 Challengers, which ultimately earned them a spot in VALORANT Masters Copenhagen. This achievement solidified Russ’s reputation as a top-tier player.

Global Esports has high hopes for Russ, expecting him to elevate the team’s performance from their eighth-place position in the inaugural season of the VCT Pacific League. Notably, while Russ has been competing in the United Kingdom throughout his Counter-Strike career, he will now be recognized as a Pacific League resident, thanks to his Indian citizenship.
