NewJeans will release the Worlds Song next week

According to Celebrity Access, the song for the League of Legends World Championship will be coming out next week on October 4.

“It’s a new experience for us. It’s cool to try a new genre and sound. In this collaboration, we are happy to have been able to put a touch of NewJeans and a touch of League of Legends into the music. We hope this brings you a new feeling of power!”

Worlds 2023 is being held in South Korea, so it’s not surprising to see Riot Games collaborating with K-pop artists this year, just like they did in 2018 with G-IDLE’s Soyeon and Miyeon in K/DA. The song “POP/STARS” became a worldwide hit, reaching over half a billion views on YouTube and leading to new releases from the same group in the following years.

NewJeans are one of the most popular K-pop groups of recent times. Founded in 2022, they quickly became famous with songs like “OMG” and “Super Shy”, hitting hundreds of millions of views on YouTube. There are five members in total: Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein. It’s yet to be confirmed whether a few or all of them will be included in the collab with Riot Games.

NewJeans might not be the only collab

Riot Games usually collaborates with different artists at every edition of Worlds and this year might not be any different. Even though it’s not confirmed, fans might get multiple songs that include Korean artists. ATEEZ visited Riot HQ in August so they also might be working on something. We’ll have to wait a bit more to find out.

With Worlds 2023 beginning on October 10, it’s building up to be yet another legendary year that might go down in the history books.
