With the launch of Counter-Strike 2, players have rushed to open cases to be among the first to pull a knife, or a rare skin. Early numbers are huge, with more than 2.2 million cases being opened during the first day of the CS2 release.

So what does this mean for the game? Let’s dive into it!

2.2 Million Counter-Strike 2 Cases

The numbers are impressive, no doubt, coming directly from CS:GO Case Tracker‘s daily figures. Despite mixed first thoughts on the Counter-Strike 2 gameplay, nothing major has changed about case opening in the new game. It’s every bit as addicting as you remember it being in CS:GO. We’ve already seen some high-profile pulls, with xQc already managing to open a Sapphire Karambit Doppler knife.

At 2.2 million cases opened, Valve is in for a nice payday from the CS2 release. After all, with every Counter-Strike 2 case opened, there’s a $2.50 key. That’s a total of $5.5 million in a single day! On top of that, there’s the Valve split for purchased cases and skins on the marketplace. There’s no doubt that the Counter-Strike 2 release will be deemed a huge success for the developer.

With stats courtesy of CS:GO Case Tracker, here’s the full breakdown of exactly what cases were opened on day one of Counter-Strike 2:

It should come as no surprise that all of the most-opened Counter-Strike 2 cases are all Prime Cases. They represent the cases entering the game at the highest quantity, so it just makes sense.

Valve’s next focus should move to releasing a new CS2 Operation. We’re now at two years without an Operation, and it would be a great way to ensure players continue to open Counter-Strike 2 cases in huge numbers.

How To Buy CS2 Cases

Previously, you had to use the Marketplace in the Steam client to buy CS2 cases. Now though, it’s easier than ever, with an in-game option that displays many of the cases you can buy in the full Counter-Strike 2 release. To access this:

Head to the “Store” tab.
Then press on the “Market” menu.
From there, select the Counter-Strike 2 case you want, and purchase it!
